| Description: | L-3 Communications, Applied Signal & Image Technology (L-3 ASIT) is seeking a Sr. Engineering Specialist for our Linthicum Heights, MD location. The Engineering Specialist will be responsible for development of system and subsystem test capability in support of programs (Acceptance Test), products (Factory test) and developmental projects. The Engineering Specialist will support the development of test capabilities based on system requirements and engineering group input, as well as supporting independent test execution and field level operational test capability. The Engineering Specialist will also provide design support, complex analysis, troubleshooting, rework, repair, calibration, inspection, and maintenance duties on a broad application of complex electronic instruments, assemblies, subassemblies, standards and systems. |
| Duties: | • Responsible for supporting engineering design, integration, test, calibration and verification of complex products and systems for air, ground, vehicular, and manpack applications.
• Responsible for performing assembly, test and evaluation of products and systems consisting of RF, analog and digital hardware, and software.
• Responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, reworking & repairing complex instruments, assemblies, subassemblies and systems.
• Responsible for leading prototype and LRIP product assembly and test from prototype thru the Manufacturing Readiness Review process (MRR).
• Responsible for checking and redlining production documentation for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, and accuracy.
• Participate in quality improvement of ASIT developed products to include recommendations for design updates, manufacturability considerations, and testability improvements.
• Assist in writing procedures and plans to ensure manufactured equipment meets all the specifications required by the customer.
• Ability to balance quality and on time delivery.

| Qualifications: | • Minimum of 16 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Minimum of 16 years testing and trouble-shooting the following circuit types: RF Converters, RF Distribution, DSP/FPGA digital circuits, Power Supply and Controllers.
• Minimum of 10 years supporting engineering development and design.
• TS clearance is preferred. Must be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
