| Description: | L-3 Communications, Applied Signal and Image Technology (L-3 ASIT) is seeking a Principle System Engineer for our Linthicum Heights, MD location. The Principle System Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and/or integration of passive and/or active airborne, mobile, shipboard and ground-based signal intelligence (SIGINT) products and systems. The primary responsibilities include: requirements analysis and flow down; functional decomposition; defining, coordinating and overseeing trade studies and leading system and design acceptance analysis; performing risk assessments and developing risk mitigation plans. The Principle System Engineer will also be responsible for operational analysis and concept of operations development. The Principle System Engineer will lead small, diverse engineering teams and provide technical leadership for meeting program requirements. |
| Duties: | • Responsible for cost, schedule and technical performance of passive and/or active airborne, mobile, shipboard and ground-based signal intelligence (SIGINT) products and systems.
• Recommends and implements design solutions for complex subsystems.
• Participates in high-level architecture designs as a part of the design review team.
• Responsible for managing system requirements capture and flow down.
• Supports risk assessments and develops risk mitigation plans.
• Supports operational analysis and development plans.
• Responsible for developing (or overseeing) engineering test plans, testing, analysis of test data and development of test reports.
• Assesses and communicates the impact of design decisions on other organizations.
• Provides technical expertise to peers or subordinates through mentoring or supervising other engineering staff.
• Supports proposal development, generating high level trade-offs, design approaches, technical write-ups and engineering estimates.

| Qualifications: | • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum of 14 years of directly related experience and/or training required.
• Minimum 10 years with the integration of COMINT and/or SIGINT products and/or systems for HF/VHF/UHF common and advanced signal types required.
• Minimum 5 years with DF and/or Geo-location products and/or systems required.
• Must have experience using MATLAB, Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Experience calibrating DF antennas and/or systems desirable.
• Eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance a must.
